Aren't your horses worth protecting?

For as long as I can remember I have loved horses. Horses of all breeds, of all colors and of all disciplines. Being raised around gaited horses of various breeds and spending many hours in the saddle riding as a child, the one thing I always dreamed about was that beautiful horse of the Black Stallion series, the Arabian. In early 1990 this dream became a reality with a chestnut Arabian gelding named RS Letez. Bought as a rescue at age 19, Tez remained with me until his death at age 26. In those few years I had the honor of knowing this elegant gentleman, I learned more about showing, riding and handling horses than I had learned in all my years of riding and being around horses previously.

One of the things that stood out about Tez was a very distinctive marking under his mane all in white air. As I researched further I came to find out this was a freeze mark applied with his breed symbol, year of birth and registration number. As I acquired more Arabian horses, I began to look for someone to freeze mark my other horses; imagine my disappointment when I found out that the (then) AHRA no longer was sending out field representatives to do this kind of work and instead, it fell back to the independent technicians of Kryo Kinetics. For many many years we had nobody near enough in this region to do this kind of work and so passed a long time of this being a dream I did not think I'd ever see to fruition.

When a friend forwarded me the information that Kryo Kinetics USA had been restructured and was looking for new technicians, I leapt at the chance to be involved with this company and in this line of work. After a week long training session at Kryo Kinetics USA home office in Selah, Washington I came home to be able to offer this service to horse owners throughout the southeastern states. While as a side job it's quite rewarding for a number of reasons, one of the best things about this line of work is the wonderful horses you get to meet, the people you meet that not only become clients, but that become good friends and the satisfaction of knowing you are helping provide a level of security and identity for a horse that no other company or system provides anywhere in the United States.

I like to tell people that I don't believe in freezemarking because I'm a technician, but that I'm a technician because I believe in this system. This allows me to keep in touch with the horse industry in a way that no other "job" would do. I love the fact that it ties a horse for a lifetime to their registration information and ownership records. I am thrilled when I hear the success stories of horses lost through theft or weather circumstances that are returned home due to a visible, permanent marking as only the freeze marking process can provide.

These horses are a gift and a treasure, aren't they worth protecting for a lifetime? Questions are invited and encouraged either through email at info@freezemark.net or by phone at 334.300.5904. I will be happy to get any information for you that will help you make a decision that is right for you, your horses and your situation.
