Is a bareback pad good for trail riding?
I am going to be doing a lot of trail riding soon. I am torn between a couple different types of saddles.
-A western saddle like this one:

-Or a bareback pad like this one:

Answer:
i ride english so i dunno about the saddles but if u are 100% comfortable with your horse and u could handle him if he freaked when u r bareback, bareback is great! one thing though is that if u get a bareback pad u NEED one with d rings on the front for a breast collar. otherwise it will slip out of place all the time and u will have to hop off to reposition it. (u especially need this if u will be riding in areas with hills)
