Western reins (20 character)?
I ride english and have a nice leather bridle. My horse rides in an egbutt snaffle and does good. I know western reins that are made like lead ropes have 2 little "clips" on either end to clip onto the bit. If I got those (just for the sake of the cute colors and fun mixes of colors) would I be able to just use those just for some schooling/trail riding with my english bridle and eggbutt bit? for anyone not sure of what im talking about its these type reins:

I don't want these for serious work or jumping just some trail riding or basic w/t/c. I have ridden with them before on a friends western horse and I did fine so that's all good I just want to make sure they'll work fine with his "whoa" and give the same pressure as regular english reins
Answer:
Those little clips you speak of are some of my favorite pieces of tack. I love those reins, and I love my reins.
MY favorite style would be leather split reins, or braided rope reins. They are great pieces of Equipment, and great looking too. I currently use the braided rope reins, and I am obsessed, they are heavy duty, and If you get some with one braid of color, (like 1 0f 4 ropes colored to your liking) they can be even more stylish, and just as effective.
