Frequently Asked Questions...
what is the point in .....?
well i was thinking of when i bring my horse in this this winter he is a thoroughbred what would be the point in changing his outdoor rug and putting on a cold stable rug?
Answer:
Depending on the two rugs, it might make a big difference. In a stable, even an unheated one, it's much warmer than it is outside just because there's no wind or snow indoors. A heavy turnout rug might be much too warm for inside the barn and cause him to sweat under the rug, which then makes him much more likely to catch a chill and get sick (because he's all wet!).
He might still need a rug inside, though. Which is where the lighter stable rug comes in. And that is the point in changing rugs.
