Dubai is the place where everything is bigger and more extravegant than anywhere else in the world. Dubai is one of the richest countries in the world, and it is argued that it contains the richest people in the world as well. This is thought of by many as the Luxury capital of the world.
First of all Dubai wanted to create the most luxurious hotel on the entire planet. The Burj Al Arab was built. This hotel is quite tall as well, almost 350 metres, it also has a helipad in top. The Sail on a Dhow ship was the inspiration for the design of this hotel. Even the hotel itself is built upon a man made island. This self proclaimed 7 star hotels is the only one of it's kind across the world, and when you can see what the rooms look like, its difficult to disagree with them. The Royal Suite at the Burj Al Arab will cost you around 28 thousand dollars. The restaurant is on the lower floors of this hotel and at the centre is a gigantic 990,000 litre aquarium.
Next for the Big One, the building that had construction started in 2004 and is still not quite finished. The Burj Dubai is the tallest building in the world, standing close to 1km at 818 metres tall. The previous tallest building was the KVLY-TV mast which towered at just over 628 metres. I wouldn't have thought that a building will be built higher than this for quite some time. With construction taking over 4 years, they are hoping to finish it by the end of 2009, although things may not go to plan. The average cost per square metre will cost in the region of 43,000 dollars, meaning the whole office will be around 1 million dollars upwards.
Dubai holidays are on the rise, but for those that want to travel here, make sure you save up a fair amount. Christmas holidays expect to benefit from this, but with competition from areas like Maldives holidays, they may have trouble getting the tourists.

is there any value to an old bottle of whiskey?
i know certain kinds of wine are worth alot but what about other liqours. i have a 1.75 liter bottle of crown royal and its in the stand that tilts to pour it. it has never been opened and it is dated 1967. my parents bought it when i was born and always said they were going to give it to me as a wedding gift. being almost 40 and never married my father gave it to me a few years ago. i really like canadian whiskey so i just want to drink it sometime. but if its really worth some money i better leave it alone. i will accept offers if anyone wants to buy it.
